Out of love and compassion to their fellowmen, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical Districts of Quezon North and Quezon, in the Philippines, volunteered for blood donation activities that were held on February 22 and 25, 2025, respectively.

Quezon North

Led by district supervising minister Brother Alex C. Alimon and district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer Brother John Louie A. Alea, the Quezon North District held the said socio-civic activity at Real municipal covered court.

The Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers and members of the district collaborated efforts with the staff of the Quezon Provincial Department of Health Office, and of the Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium in organizing the health screenings and the actual blood donation. The latter’s patients were the intended benefiaciries of the event.

There were 120 brethren who went to the venue to participate. After the health screenings, qualified blood donors were able to produce a total of 89 blood bags.

“It’s a pleasure to donate blood as we are able to help others,” said regular blood donor Glen Gurango of Pulo Congregation.

“Thank you so much to our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for supporting activities like this,” said district CMDPS president Baby Shyrill Tena, adding on behalf of fellow CMDPS officers: “Taking part in this humane endeavor, wherein we’ve been able to use our profession to please God, makes us feel so happy.”

Quezon

The Quezon District conducted its blood donation activity at the third floor of the Pacific Mall Event Center, Lucena City.

Facilitated by Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) and CMDPS officers and members, the event drew hundreds of brethren, with more than a hundred qualifying as blood donors. A total of 140 bags of blood were collected. These were then handed over to the Quezon Medical Center for the benefit of its patients.

“Activities, like this one, that the Church Administration fully supports are of utmost importance being a way to fulfill God’s command of helping our fellowmen, especially nowadays when many more are becoming sick and are in need of blood [transfusion],” said district CFO overseer Brother Niceto M. Gurango Jr.

Having seen personally the benefit such blood donation brings to recipients, SCAN member and blood donor Leonardo Pasildo said, “I thank the Church Administration for launching this activity that is for the benefit of many, be they Iglesia Ni Cristo members or not.” — With assistance from John Irvin Eballa and Mark Fabregas
