The Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan held a baptism at the Ichikawa Congregation house of worship on March 21, 2025. The sacred occasion was officiated by district supervising minister Brother Amante Rodriguez.

After listening to the Bible-based lesson preached by Brother Rodriguez, the would-be members took their oath of membership led by Brother Joel Parlade in Filipino language, which Brother Lloyd Anobling translated into Nihongo language. Their baptism was then administered by Brother Michael Mercado.

After the baptism proper, a “Welcome, My Brethren” program was held for the newly baptized brethren, for them to be recognized and introduced to the respective Christian Family Organization (CFO) that they would belong. Officers and brethren warmly welcomed them.

Newly baptized Kazuha Itami of Shinagawa Congregation, “learned the importance of attending the worship service” when she was attending Bible studies prior to her receiving baptism. Having taught what else she must do, she added: “I will strive to be strong in the faith. I will do my best to remain in the Church.”

“I’m very thankful for having this opportunity,” said newly baptized Akiyo Furukawa of Yokosuka Congregation.

“We will look after our newly baptized brethren. We will encourage them to be all the more eager in obeying our Lord God,” said resident minister Brother Alexander Dingal of Ibaraki Congregation on behalf of the district. — With reports from Rie Sugihara and Ronessa Dopeño of INC News Section
