The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Local Congregation of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba reached out to other people in their community by donating household appliances and clothing just in time for the winter season.
The charitable event was held under the Church’s INC Giving project at chapel grounds on September 26, 2021.
The event served as an opportunity for the brethren to meet and socialize with the people in their community—in fact, a family affair for some brethren and guest-recipients alike who brought their entire family with them.
Members of the KADIWA and Binhi prepared song and dance numbers for entertainment. They also handed out copies of the Pasugo: God’s Message magazine.
Angelica Milan, one of the guests, said, “I think it’s a great event especially for me who is new to Canada. I found some very good jackets and good clothing that will be so useful especially now in the winter. For newcomers, they don’t know how winter is, we even have issues finding a job or adjusting to Canada. I think an event like this helps a lot of people to be able to adjust to this country.”
Anne Erimona, another guest, expressed, “In my own opinion, the Bible said [that we ought] to show love to everyone. This is it. This is what love is. Sharing, it’s love. So, this is what the Bible preaches. And this is what you are doing. It’s a good thing.”
Having been able to show once again their love and care for their fellowmen in unity with the Church Administration, the brethren were delighted for the positive feedback from the community and were thankful to the Almighty God. — With reports from INC News Section
