“Looking back, there was a small number of brethren then and we yearned for a permanent place of worship,” shared Jemmuel Jasmin, one of the head deacons. He added, “We are so glad that the Church here is thriving and continuously receive God’s blessings such as becoming a congregation 15 years ago and having this beautiful worship building.”

For the 15th anniversary of establishment of the Staten Island, New York Congregation in the Ecclesiastical District of New York, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members there attended a special worship service on September 20, 2026, at their house of worship. The sacred gathering was officiated by Brother Joel V. San Pedro, International Church Affairs department head, through videoconferencing, from within the Central Complex, Quezon City, Philippines.

Present at the house of worship of Staten Island together with the brethren were ministers composing the district leadership led by Brother Sheridohn R. Santos, district supervising minister.

One of the key takeaways during the Bible-based preaching is that trials, no matter how difficult, brings about spiritual refinement to Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members, helping them become all the more worthy of being saved.

“[The lesson] inspired me to keep on performing my duties in the Church, which I hope I can continue doing so, for I know that I am getting older,” shared Michael Vetros, a deacon.

Afterwards, a get-together was held. Talented brethren, such as those from the Buklod and KADIWA organization, performed May I Always Be True and You Are My Light And Refuge, respectively.

“All of us here in the congregation are always united, just like a family, despite various challenges,” narrated Marlon Cancio, head deacon. He also expressed, “We can truly feel how loved we are by the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for he remembered us by letting one of his strong helpers to lead us in a worship service, and for that we are truly grateful to God.” — With assistance from Chad J. Bustamante
