Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) officers from five ecclesiastical districts in Northern Luzon, Philippines, attended a special meeting on June 21, 2025. For the occasion, the Church Administration sent Brother Gerry Purificacion to lead them.

The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Vigan City, in the Ecclesiastical District of Ilocos Sur, served as the venue where SCAN members from the neighboring Ecclesiastical Districts of Abra; Batac City, Ilocos Norte; Candon City, Ilocos Sur; and Laoag City, attended.

Brother Purificacion exhorted the attendees through the Bible to further dedicate themselves in fulfilling their duties to be strong helpers of the Administration in bringing to fruition all of the Church’s endeavors. They were also encouraged to keep inviting more brethren to become SCAN members.

“This special gathering is very helpful, as it strengthened my faith, and keeps me informed about the latest developments in the organization,” said SCAN officer Jhonny Balmilero from Laoag City. “For longtime officers like me, it’s a refreshing reminder of the SCAN’s mission and guidelines, and a source of inspiration for the new members.”

Among the attendees were newly-sworn SCAN members, such as Leah Lyn Bation from Abra District, who said, “When they asked me to join the SCAN, I immediately said ‘yes’ because I want to help others through the organization. Regarding the meeting, she added, “It’s a blessing because I learned many things.”

“I gained valuable insights on enhancing my knowledge and skills in rescue operations and modern communication—which greatly empower us in SCAN as we perform our duties,” said SCAN president Premie De Guzman Salazar of Ilocos Sur District. On behalf of his fellow officers, he added, “We wholeheartedly pledge to apply the lessons, wisdom, and understanding we received, with deep gratitude to the Church Administration and above all, to the Almighty God, for their guidance.” — With reports from Edlyn Antolin of INC News Section
