Head deacons, deacons assisting in the pulpit, and their respective families received spiritual upliftment during a special gathering held by the Ecclesiastical District of Hawaii-Pacific on September 20, 2026, which was officiated by the district supervising minister, Brother Gem H. Baitan.

The Local Congregation of Ewa Beach, on the island of O’ahu, served as the host site. The event’s proceedings were livestreamed to four remote sites on neighboring islands: Keaau (Big Island), Wailuku (Maui), Kalaheo (Kauai), and American Samoa.

In his Bible-based homily, Brother Baitan reminded the Church officers to continue fulfilling their sacred obligations with greater zeal. He also encouraged their families to be a strong support system. Brother Baitan reminded them that doing so would pave the way for them to see God’s good plans for His people who are dedicated to serving Him unfold.

“Attending this gathering was a very meaningful and heartwarming experience for me. It was a blessing to me and my family,” said Lamberto Reyes Jr., head deacon of Kunia Congregation. “Through this sacred occasion, we were able to receive spiritual guidance and reflect on the responsibilities entrusted to us by God as a Church officer and head of the household. We are responsible for guiding and setting a good example not only to the brethren under our care but also to our family for them to remain strong in the faith,” he added.

“During the preaching of God’s words, it was emphasized to us that we should be of great help to the Church Administration in leading the brethren in our respective congregations. Despite our hectic schedules, we will always prioritize performing our duties to God and leading our families in a holy way of life,” Jose Layacan Jr., head deacon of American Samoa Congregation, said.

After the special gathering, socializing activities were held at each congregation’s function hall or compound to strengthen the bond among attendees. While sharing dinner, they were entertained with musical performances featuring INC original music. There was also a studio prepared wherein every family could take family portraits as keepsakes.
