From the third to last week of September 2026, the Ecclesiastical District of Spain conducted a series of propagation activities—evangelical missions and baptisms. Such endeavor was their way to commemorate the 17th year of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo as the Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

Baptisms

Reaping the fruits of the brethren’s propagation efforts from a few months ago, the district leadership administered baptisms held at three venues on September 27, 2026.

Brother Froilan C. Enriquez Jr., district supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal gathering in Madrid Congregation. Brother Gilbert Aniciete, assistant district supervising minister, presided over the baptismal service held in Barcelona. Brother Louie Acebuchi, district assistant secretary, led at that in San Pedro.

After the Bible-based preaching, the baptismal candidates took their oath of membership. Then, their baptism followed.

Afterwards, “Welcome, My Brethren” activities were held in each of the venues.

“I joined this Church because I understood that the Bible truly teaches that salvation is found only in the Church Of Christ,” said Patrick Dennis McNair, newly baptized from Fuengirola Congregation. “I  felt like a new man and overjoyed because I now have the blessed assurance of receiving salvation and eternal life.”

Evangelical missions

Weeks prior, on September 13 and 20, evangelical missions were held in the three regions of the district: Andalusia, Catalonia and Islas Baleares, and Madrid.

On September 13, Brother Julius Lansangan, district edification overseer, Brother Oliver Ocampo, district Light of Salvation overseer, and Brother Alberto Ubando, resident minister of Marbella Congregation, led the proclamation of God’s words in the local congregations of Madrid Norte, Ibiza, and Marbella, respectively.

Meanwhile, on September 20, Brother Gilbert Zaraga, resident minister of Barcelona Congregation, Brother Christopher Tabenan, district chronicler, and Brother Acebuchi officiated at the evangelistic activities in the local congregations of Barcelona, Madrid Norte, and San Pedro, respectively.

“Being able to attend this kind of event was very rewarding. It helped me to understand how important it is that people are able to listen to and obey the words of God,” said a guest by the name of Janice Abarcar.

“Our basis for what we do in the Church Of Christ—sharing our faith with our  fellowmen—is the commandment of God written in the Bible. That is why whenever there are evangelical missions, I always invite people, such as my friends and acquaintances, for them to know and understand the teachings upheld by the Church,” said Norma Aala, deaconess and finance officer from Madrid Sur Congregation. — With reports from Noemi Jimenez
