Aware of the many harmful stressors nowadays that affect the youth, the leadership of the KADIWA and Binhi organizations in the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon South jointly facilitated a seminar on mental health on April 12, 2026 for their members.
From the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Sta. Rosa as the host site, the event’s proceedings were livestreamed to that of 34 other local congregations.
The seminar commenced with an opening prayer led by Brother Aldon Jade Enayo, resident minister of Sta. Rosa Congregation.
Brother Jae Wincel Alquiros, district councilor aide, delivered the opening remarks, discussing the seminar objectives.
The attendees, 712 in total, first participated in an activity dubbed “Shredding of Emotions.”
Afterwards, Brother Alquiros led the discussion on the proper understanding and handling of stress.
This was followed by the Bible-based lecture presented by Brother Domingo De Alca Jr., district Christian Family Organizations overseer. He explained that it is already forewarned in the Holy Scriptures that in these last days dangerous times of great stress and trouble would come. Be that as it may, he said, God’s servants should never lose hope but fight for the faith since they can ask for His help through prayer. Brother De Alca led the prayer after the lecture.
“Attending this seminar has been a meaningful and rewarding experience, being given proper knowledge and guidance on how we, the youth, can take care of ourselves physically, emotionally, and mentally,” said Lovely Ann Dagos, a choir member from Sta. Rosa Congregation. “God’s words that we received all the more edified our faith and helped us to be prepared in facing life’s challenges.”
“Very timely,” said Jovy Myca Pantoja, organist from the same congregation, regarding the mental issues tackled during the seminar, “because many people nowadays, especially the youth, fall into depression due to improper handling of stress. This seminar is a great help for us.” She added, “On my part, I’ve learned how to cope with stress properly. And like what I’ve learned from the lecture, feeling stressed on something must behoove me to be active even more in my services to God while continuously trusting, through prayers, on what He can do for me.”
