The Ecclesiastical District of San Diego County, California conducted a baptism at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Chula Vista on December 22, 2024.

“Membership in the Church Of Christ is a lifelong commitment,” highlighted Brother Matthew Capistrano, district supervising minister, during his Bible-based homily. Reminding the baptismal candidates about the profound significance of their decision to become members of the true Church, he urged them to remain steadfast in the faith despite life’s challenges.

After the preaching of God’s words was the candidates’ taking oath of membership led by Brother Erman Bendicio, assistant district supervising minister. Then, the baptism followed.

Many brethren from all over the district, especially those instrumental in the conversion into the Church Of Christ of the newly baptized members, strove to attend the baptismal gathering.

“Life-changing,” enthused newly baptized James Shanks of National City, California Congregation. “I feel like a new person. It’s just an incredible experience. I’m overwhelmed with emotion at the moment.”

“It felt very surreal that I was able to make it this far,” said John Caraag of Chula Vista Congregation. “After I received the baptism, I knew that I’ve been very blessed and for this, I’m very thankful.”

Right after the baptism was a “Welcome, My Brethren” activity. The ministers, ministerial workers, and Church officers in the district personally greeted the newly baptized brethren, even inviting them to upcoming activities of the Church. They were even treated to musical performances featuring some of the Iglesia Ni Cristo original songs.
