The Local Congregation of Niagara Falls in the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Ontario celebrated its 10th anniversary through a series of activities held last month.
These are: basic self-defense seminar on June 15, beautification activity and Pasugo: God’s Message magazine distribution on June 20, and INConcert on June 21.
In the seminar, district Buklod president, Joe Vanni Colega, a Taekwondo black belt instructor, taught and demonstrated basic self-defense skills, providing the brethren with practical physical defense techniques and mental situational awareness training.
Five days after that activity, the congregation’s members cleaned the multi-purpose hall, chapel lobby, basement activity room, and various department offices in preparation for the INConcert.
Later that day, they handed out many copies of Pasugo and other religious pamphlets in their neighborhood as part of their duty of helping spread the pure gospel.
The INConcert, the highlight of the anniversary celebration, happened the next day at the congregation’s multi-purpose hall.
After the resident minister, Brother Fernando Manaloto, led the opening prayer, the message of the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, was read by the district supervising minister, Brother Ricardo E. Alipio.
In his letter, the Executive Minister urged the brethren to continue living a life of holiness while remaining active in all Church endeavors.
The concert featured live renditions of INC original music performed by select Church officers and brethren.
The choir composed of adult members rendered Sing of His Endless Majesty and Create In Me A Pure Heart, while the deacons and deaconesses’ group performed Let Our Family Praise Our God. Local secretaries and Light Of Salvation officers sang Together, the Children’s Worship Service (CWS) officers’ We Glorify Your Name, and CWS kids I’m Iglesia Ni Cristo. Finance officers Elisha Blair Manaloto and El Viktor Schae Simbulan performed a duet of May I Always Be True, followed by a vocal trio rendition of The Greatness Of Your Love by Yra Honey Apuyan, Roanne Pearl Yango, and Tiara Chrystia Rajandiran.
Assistant district supervising minister, Brother Almer Vargas, delivered the concluding remarks, followed by a solemn prayer.
“I enjoyed every part of the program, especially the musical performances, and I was deeply touched by the message of our Executive Minister,” said Juliet Tuazon, a Buklod member.
“The song numbers were truly uplifting, heartfelt, united, and full of gratitude to God. I’m so happy and blessed to witness such a beautiful program. To God be the glory,” enthused Excellent Abdul Azeez, a CWS officer.
