Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) officers from all local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand South convened for a special gathering on September 14, 2025.

The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Christchurch served as the main venue, to which several remote sites across the district were linked via videoconferencing.

Brother Rojel Ferdinand Jaraza, SCAN International foreign overseer and Victoria, Australia district edification overseer, was sent by the Church Administration to officiate the sacred occasion. He was accompanied by the New Zealand South district supervising minister, Brother Uziel Bongares

In his Bible-based homily, Brother Jaraza emphasized the importance of remaining steadfast in one’s divine calling. “Aside from being reminded about valuing their duty, SCAN members deepened their understanding of their organization’s significance to the Church and even to the community,” he shared in an interview afterwards.

“Our Almighty God sees the unwavering commitment of SCAN members,” remarked district edification overseer Brother Marco Mangune. “With His mercy, they will receive His blessings they need in this life.”

“My faith has been strengthened. I’m all the more inspired to fulfill my duties,” said Antonio Hallascon from the Invercargill South Congregation. “This day truly uplifted our spiritual fervor,” added Eric Antonio of the Invercargill Congregation.

“There are problems. Despite all I’ve faced, I remain faithful. I firmly believe that these are just tests in life,” said Fitzgerald Congregation president Rodel Reyes. Likewise motivated, district president Robert Torres affirmed, “I will encourage my fellow officers to uphold the sacred duty entrusted to us by God by serving Him with zeal.” — With assistance from James Tadeo Villanueva
