The Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand South conducted a districtwide evangelical mission on June 5, 2026. Other local congregations that served as remote sites connected via videostreaming to the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Christchurch where Brother Marco Mangune, district edification overseer, led the study of God’s words to 120 guests.
“We know there are things people may disagree on, but one thing we can agree on is the certainty of death. Not only is life short, but life is also frail. We shared with our guests what the Bible teaches as the way man can triumph over death, that is, the second death, that God decreed for man,” said Mangune.
“What stood out to me the most is how he [the minister] talked about the punishment imposed by God on Judgment Day,” Manaia Joseph-Jackson, a first-time visitor, said.
Summer De Juan from Halswell Congregation invited her on the first day of their class. She recalled, “I met her at our school and invited her by telling her that our Church has an evangelical mission and asked if I could invite her, and she said yes.”
From Nelson Group Worship Service (GWS), Ianne Keziah Sibayan noted that she will continue to help share the faith, while Dan Alvarez added that “I will always invite my friends to Bible studies.” “It is important to spread God’s words especially now that Judgment Day is fast approaching,” said Brother Mark Anthony Florez, resident ministerial worker.
“We are aware of the busy schedules of the brethren, and yet, they are still able to help in the works of propagation because they understand this is their duty,” explained Brother Noel Ilan, district Church officers overseer. “Every effort they exert means a lot for those they invited to listen to the words of truth,” he added.
