“My heart is filled with joy that I’m now a member of the true Church through God’s help,” said Mary Jane Ramos, a new member from the Local Congregation of Hong Kong West, Ecclesiastical District of Hong Kong. She was among those baptized at the place of worship of the Local Congregation of Kowloon on November 24, 2024.

During his Scripture-inspired preaching, Brother Noer Misa, district supervising minister, reminded the duties that God expects those who received true baptism to fulfill. They must uphold a life that is holy and dedicated to God, that is, obeying all of His commandments, especially the total renewal of life for them to ascertain salvation on Judgment Day.

Another newly-baptized member, Melody Dimaapi, from the Local Congregation of Tuen Mun, said, “I thank the brethren who were diligent in helping me until I reached my baptism. Above all, it is through God’s love and care. To show my gratitude, I will abide by the biblical doctrines I was taught.”

The officiating minister also exhorted the new members to never waver in their faith. As members of the true religion, they have the true relationship to God and the privilege to be heard in their prayers. God will come to their rescue if they remain faithful to Him.

The said baptism was made possible “because the Lord God blessed the efforts of the brethren to share the true faith. And the Church Administration guides us to uphold such works that please our Lord God,” said Brother Misa in an interview after the gathering. On behalf of the district, he added, “We will maintain our zeal in all the works of the Lord in the Church.” — With assistance from Kris Gayle Seneca
