Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon City are filled with great joy as they witnessed the establishment of B. Asuncion Extension of the Local Congregation of Bagong Silangan through an inaugural worship service on May 1, 2024.

Brother Bienvenido Santiago, the Church’s General Evangelist, officiated at the said gathering wherein he emphasized from the Bible that God seeks His people to imitate the obedience and humility of the Lord Jesus Christ for them to be worthy of receiving the promised salvation.

Inspired by the biblical teaching he received, Bremie Asuncion, a head deacon of the Local Congregation of Bagong Silangan, expressed that “even if I have illnesses, I still strive to actively serve our Lord God. That is what I teach my family as the most important thing to do.”

Succeeding worship services of the extension will be held at the same venue, on the property situated at Area 2, Eagle St., Sitio Veterans, Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, which Asuncion donated to the Church. Prior to the extension’s establishment, Brother Dennis Dinogan, Bagong Silangan Congregation’s resident minister, shared, brethren residing in that area “had to travel for 4 kilometers for them to reach the house of worship of Bagong Silangan.”

Thankful for having a place of worship near her home, Gabriella Mamaboy, choir member, expressed that she “no longer [has] to worry on the distance needed to be traveled” every time she performs her duty in the worship services.

Brother Virgilio Del Rosario Sr., district supervising minister, attributed the rise of the said extension to “the continuous increase of Church membership” in the area. He added that “by having a place of worship near their homes, brethren are certain of being more able to actively and peacefully serve and worship God.” — With reports from Kate Russel Mabale of INC News Section
