A proof of the flourishing work of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in Papua New Guinea, the Motukea Group Worship Service (GWS) of the Port Moresby Congregation, Victoria, Australia, was inaugurated. Brother Manuel Villapañe Jr., assistant district supervising minister, officiated its first worship service held on April 21, 2026.
The venue of the worship service was an events place at Granville Moresby, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea—roughly seven kilometers from the Port Moresby house of worship. The said place of worship is within a property owned by head deacons Pablo De Guia and Alden Due.
“I’m really joyful for this gathering,” enthused a deacon, Henry Lintag. “Even if I’m in a remote place like this, I feel God’s love is really close and evident to me. I truly believe I’m able to remain in the faith because of His constant help.”
The officiating minister also exhorted the attendees to share the true faith to their loved ones so that they too will receive God’s promised salvation. He urged them to remain zealous in participating in all Church works.
“This was very special for me and my daughter,” shared Betty Ivan, a Papuan. “It is an immense blessing to be a member of the true Church. I have friends in mind that I will strive to invite into the true religion.”
On behalf of the brethren, Brother Villapañe said, “We thank the Church Administration for approving the establishment of this GWS which will be vital in edifying the faith of the brethren and be able to serve God no matter what.” — With assistance from Conrado Regala Jr. and Loreen Quiñola
