The Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba, with the approval from the Church Administration, established the Arborg Group Worship Service (GWS). Its inaugural worship service was held at a function hall of Norwood Hotel along Marion St, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on November 17, 2024, and was officiated at by Brother Roland Andrade, district supervising minister.

“Before, traveling was difficult especially during winter,” Gerardo Chavez, GWS overseer, remarked. “Now we don’t have to travel far. Having a place of worship here will further strengthen our faith. We can also be all the more able to introduce the Church to more nonmembers.”

“By the grace and mercy of our Lord God, we witnessed this inaugural worship service for the brethren in Arborg,” said Brother Felmar Serreno, assistant district supervising minister. “We have congregations in the east, south, and west of Winnipeg, and now we are opening more congregations in the north. Our worship services and activities in the Church have become closer to the brethren who are in this region.”

Also during the said occasion, a pioneering set of officers took oath of office to be of help in edifying the faith of their fellow brethren, among their other obligations.

“I believe that God will guide me in performing these,” said Roland Felix Mena, newly-sworn secretary and Technical Support for Videostreaming officer. “I promise to be instrumental in propagating God’s words and will continuously unite with the Church Administration.”

“We praise and thank our Lord God for listening to our prayers, and our Lord Jesus Christ Who is always there to strengthen us. We are also thankful to our beloved Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, who continues to lead us to further victories of the Church all for the glory and honor of God,” Brother Serreno added.

Succeeding worship services will be conducted at 145 Sunset Boulevard Arborg, Manitoba, Canada. The GWS’ place of worship is about an hour away from that of the Local Congregation of Winnipeg South, its parent congregation. — With reports from Eric Perey of INC News Section
