The Local Congregation of Malagasang emerged as the champion in the Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation)-Buklod Edition that the Ecclesiastical District of Cavite, in the Philippines, held at the General Trias Convention Center on August 16, 2026.
The musical competition drew nine other choral groups of married members from various local congregations across the district, namely, Bayan Luma, Binakayan, F. Manalo, General Trias, Imus, Pasong Camachile, Pasong Cawayan, Sangley Point, and Santol.
The event started with a prayer led by Brother Philip Fernandez, district Church officers overseer, followed by Brother Eli C. Hebrew, district supervising minister, delivering his opening remarks.
“In launching these kinds of activities, the goal is to remind the brethren God’s teachings through Christian songs,” Brother Hebrew emphasized. “This is the kind of faith that the brethren hold on to when facing the trials and various problems they go through.”
In between intermission numbers by their fellow talented brethren, the choral groups showcased their respective entries. Afterward, they altogether sang Bayani ng Pananampalataya (Heroes of Faith) as their final performance.
Then, Brother Larry Failano, assistant district supervising minister, delivered the closing remarks, thanking the performers for sharing their talents. Brother Ryan Viana, district Light Of Salvation overseer, led the closing prayer.
As everyone awaited the final tally, the song Aming Namamahala (Our Executive Minister) was rendered, encouraging all to fortify their zeal in uniting with the activities launched by the Church Administration.
Right after, Brother Hebrew announced the Malagasang Congregation as the grand champion with their rendition of INC original song titled Aking Ikinagagalak, Ama (I Take Pride, Father).
The General Trias Congregation landed first runner-up with their version of Salamat Po Ama, Sa Pamamahala (Thank You Father, for the Church Administration), and the Santol Congregation who rendered Tagapangunang Kadamdamin Mo Ama (A Leader Whose Heart Beats To Your Heart, Father) the second runner-up.
