A clean-up drive that was organized by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Macau helped clean a stretch of the Hac Sa Beach, the largest natural beach in Coloane, Macau on August 17, 2024. Brother Celestino Bacsafra, district supervising minister, oversaw the socio-civic activity together with fellow ministers constituting the district leadership.
Church members actively responded to the call to help tidy up the seaside. They collected and then disposed properly various kinds of litter, including plastic bags, plastic bottles, empty cans, and other refuse.
“The brethren gladly participated in this activity because doing so showed our responsibility and care for the community and environment,” explained Brother Shandrick Earl Ang, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer.
“I’m happy being here having been able to do my part in helping the environment, even strengthening my bond with fellow brethren in the district,” Meldy Reyes, CFO officer from the Local Congregation of Taipa, expressed.
The socio-civic activity showed the brethren’s commitment to community service and environmental preservation, reflecting the aim of the INC Giving Projects to help the community at every opportune time.
“This clean-up drive is a beneficial activity,” Gimo Lavara, deacon from the Local Congregation of Macau, remarked. “The brethren became more aware of proper waste segregation that is helpful for the environment.”
“It’s great to see the brethren coming together for a good cause,” said Jay Morales, KADIWA district president from the Local Congregation of San Malou. “I also feel proud to contribute in keeping the beach clean and beautiful.” — With reports from Jovelyn Talbo of INC News Section
