Brethren from the Local Congregation of Lubang gathered in gratitude to God on July 4, 2026 to attend the rededication worship service of their newly renovated house of worship.
The renovation increased its seating capacity to 120 worshipers to accommodate the growing membership. The structure was outfitted with modern amenities and safety enhancements, including an automated fire alarm system, CCTV system, as well as a new chandelier.
Brother Pedro F. Castillo, Batangas District supervising minister, officiated at the occasion. In his Bible-based homily, he emphasized to the brethren the importance of caring for and maintaining the house of worship. The rededication proves timely as the local congregation will mark its 31st anniversary later this year.
“I’m grateful to the Lord God that despite our remote location, He answered our prayers to have a beautiful chapel that inspires us all to perform our duties with even greater commitment,” said Karen Borillo, choir member.
“Our hearts overflow with joy that the renovation is finally complete,” enthused Willie Tejoso, head deacon. “Aside from the fact that it’s where we worship God, it will also serve as a beacon of hope as we share our faith with people on the island.”
Brother Mirlo Gaanan, resident minister, said on behalf of the congregation: “We will safeguard and cherish this beautiful house of worship so that we can bring greater honor and pleasure to the Lord God.”
“Our hearts are filled with joy. The rapid growth of the membership drives the continuous beautification and expansion of houses of worship like this one. To God be all the glory,” Brother Castillo said.
The Local Congregation of Lubang is administered by the District of Batangas. It can be reached in less than six hours from Nasugbu Port.
