The Ecclesiastical District of Ireland donated toys to a children’s hospital in Belfast, Northern Ireland as part of their commemoration of the Church’s 110th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).
Members from the district’s six local congregations, six group worship services, and sole extension voluntarily took part in this altruistic endeavor for the benefit of the patients at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
The donations, which included a variety of games, stuffed animals, and educational toys, were brought by the brethren to the district office for packaging beginning from July 27, 2024.
Nine days later, on August 5, the district leadership led by Brother Pepito Acuesta, district supervising minister, and some brethren, delivered the donations to the staff and patients of the children’s hospital, located along Grosvenor Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.
Jun Olar from the Kilkenny Group Worship Service, who with son Vaughn, took part in the humanitarian activity, said, “Through these activities organized by the Church, we demonstrate how we, guided by the Church Administration, can support those in need, especially the less fortunate and the sick.” Vaughn added, “It’s important that our actions consistently reflect Christian values, such as helping others.”
“The unity among the brethren in our district is clearly evident in this activity,” observed Arabella Martinez, a choir member from the Portlaoise Congregation. “I look forward to participating in similar events in the future where we can demonstrate our esteem and love by sharing what we have.”
“Community service activities and programs like INC Giving are not just about helping others; they’re about fostering a stronger, more connected community,” said Brother Rob Polancos, resident minister of the Belfast Congregation. “When the brethren dedicate their time and energy to serve others, we create a ripple effect of kindness that uplifts everyone around us.”— With reports from Corinne Rhea Betsayda
