On August 3, 2025, the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Plains held a special awarding ceremony for the district-wide activity called Iglesia Ni Cristo Music Video (INCMV) competition, which was launched two months prior for the district’s second anniversary.
With the Local Congregation of Kansas City, Kansas serving as the host site, brethren from other local congregations gathered at respective venues and witnessed the event’s proceedings via WebEx.
The program commenced with a prayer led by district secretary Brother Ray Romualdo, then the opening remarks by district edification overseer Brother Joseph Penwell. Afterwards, district Church Officers overseer Brother Junie Alarin read the brief history of the district. An audiovisual presentation followed.
Next off was the presentation of the INCMV of each local congregation. Choir members Kristine Ching, Felicia Nofuente, Leila Mabuti, Rocky Cessor, Ferdinand Valete, and Maria Kahl evaluated based on the following criteria: overall impact, audio quality, video quality, and production cinematography.
After such showcase, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer Brother Edison Solomon, and district chronicler and multimedia adviser Brother Seth Domine announced the winners.
The Local Congregation of Kansas City bagged first place with their rendition of the INC original music entitled “God Will Provide Strength.” The Local Congregations of St. Louis, Missouri and St. Paul, Minnesota were announced as second and third runners-up, respectively, with their renditions of “I’ll Hold On Tightly to My Hope” and “The Nation God Has Not Forsaken.” They were awarded trophies.
“This activity not only paved the way for brethren to showcase their talents in music and video production, but also served as an avenue to continue pleasing God as they also further edify their faith,” Brother Domine stated.
“I thank the Lord God for the success of our activity. Our initial challenge in producing our INCMV entry was finding time to practice, especially since each of us had other obligations to attend to. But by God’s grace and mercy, we were not only able to complete our entry, but we were also declared the winner. It’s truly fulfilling for all of us—our efforts have paid off,” enthused choir leader May Fernandez of the winning congregation.
“The brethren have been inspired to remain active in their services to God,” attested district supervising minister Brother Elmer Parungao, who graced the event with his presence. On their behalf, he added, “We thank the Lord God for placing a Church Administration that tirelessly toils for our sake—for our salvation. We’re ever inspired to unite with all other activities, and thus continue doing what pleases God.”
The district was established on July 28, 2023. —With reports from Karl Batobalani of INC News Section
