SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga — The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC or Church Of Christ) held a successful blood donation drive on Saturday, September 14, 2024, here in San Fernando City, Pampanga, in partnership with the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH).

The activity, held at the INC School for Ministers (INCSFM) building on Sto. Niño Viejo Rd., drew hundreds of dedicated members from the Ecclesiastical District of Pampanga East which oversees 64 active INC congregations.

The partnership of INC with the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) aims to address urgent local healthcare needs. This collaboration ensured that the donated blood would directly benefit patients and enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide essential medical care.

Paula David, donor recruitment officer at JBLMGH, highlighted the critical demand for blood in the area. “As Pampanga’s tertiary government hospital, we have an 800-bed capacity and consume around 100 bags of blood daily for in-patients alone. The need extends to other hospitals in Bataan and Bulacan that rely on our resources,” she explained.

David further emphasized the INC’s invaluable role in addressing this need. “The Church Of Christ is one of our top blood donation partners. Thanks to the generous contributions from INC members, we can ensure a safe and sufficient blood supply for those in need,” she added.

Brother Carlo Amadeus Verceles, an INC Minister, affirmed the Church’s dedication to helping others. “We hold blood donation events in obedience to the Christian teaching to do good to those who need it,” he said.

The INC has regularly conducted blood donation drives not only in the Philippines, but in other countries as well, exemplifying the Church’s steadfast commitment to community service and humanitarian outreach. By mobilizing its members, the INC aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals requiring blood transfusions while fostering a spirit of altruism and cooperation within the community. This initiative is part of a broader series of efforts by the INC to contribute to society and bolster public health initiatives. The Church remains committed to organizing and participating in activities that promote the welfare of individuals and communities both locally and globally.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is a Christian religion in more than 165 countries and territories. It is composed of members from more than 150 different ethnicities and nationalities.
