With God’s help, the Slave Lake Congregation under Edmonton District was able to establish a group worship service (GWS): the Falher, Alberta GWS. On July 5, 2026, its inaugural worship service was officiated at by Brother Rolando E. Gaviola, Edmonton District supervising minister.

The momentous occasion was held at Smoky River Community Hall at Main Street, Falher. The GWS’s succeeding worship services will be held at the residence of Philbert Punla, Buklod congregation president, located at 128 3rd Ave SE, Falher.

In his homily, Brother Gaviola emphasized that being among God’s true nation in these last days—the Church Of Christ—they must uphold their zealous services to God. After the preaching, an oath-taking of the pioneering Church officers was administered by Brother Ricardo R. Briñas, district Church officers overseer.

“The brethren here in Falher will no longer have to travel far to attend worship services and other Church activities,” said Brother Pol Manicdo, district Light of Salvation overseer. He added, “With the establishment of the GWS here, the brethren can better share God’s words in this place as they can now invite more guests to attend Bible studies closer to where they live.”

Brother Gaviola expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Church members saying, “Thanks be to God for, through the Church Administration, there is a GWS here in Falher, Alberta, now.”
