The Local Congregation of Ilugin in the Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East in the Philippines reached its 43rd anniversary in April 2025. In commemoration of the said anniversary, a musical and arts activity, which was prepared by the local Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers, with Brother Mico Magadia, resident minister, leading them, was held on May 9, 2025.
After visiting the gallery showcasing the congregation’s humble beginnings and subsequent achievements, which was put up within the chapel grounds, the brethren then attended the musical event “Songs of Faith, Love, and Hope,” held also within the Church’s compound.
As its name signifies, the event featured talented brethren singing their rendition of INC original songs, such as Kumusta Na Kayo? (How Are You?), Ikaw Ang Inspirasyon (You Are The Inspiration), Luha Ng Kagalakan (Tears Of Joy), Bad Days Are Gone, and Salamat Po, Ka. Eduardo (Thank You, Brother Eduardo). They performed these in solo, duet, and quartet, most of which rendered in acoustic version.
CFO officer and the activity’s project director Nicos Cruz shared why they highlighted INC original songs for their congregation’s anniversary: “Messages being conveyed through Church-composed songs and hymns help nurture our Christian values, especially when these are performed and brethren get fond of listening to these.”
In the same vein, KADIWA president Jose Luis Balares hoped to “showcase their singing abilities expressing gratitude to God which our local congregation truly relates to, since He has allowed us reach our 43rd year.”
“The performances I witnessed has indeed edified my faith, love, and hope, helpful to brave trials that will still come along the way,” expressed Binhi member Aliyah Biñan. Another Binhi member, Genesis Tolentino, added, “I was truly inspired to all the more be active in participating in all Church activities.”
“Thanks be to God for, through the guidance and support from the Church Administration, we’ve been able to conduct this activity,” said KADIWA officer Maricar Kalaw. “The time we spent in preparing and conducting devotional prayers were never in vain, as the activity was successfully done, bringing joy and further inspiration to my fellow brethren,” she added.
Before concluding the event with a prayer, Brother Magadia encouraged the Ilugin brethren to “remain zealous in taking part in more upcoming activities, especially their worship and services to God, to please Him and thus secure our divine election and receive salvation come Judgment Day.”
