The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), through the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation, conducted Care For Humanity events to extend aid to those affected by the Super Typhoon Sinlaku which ravaged across the Mariana Islands in the Pacific Ocean for at least two days.

The humanitarian activities took place at the house of worship compounds of the local congregations of Saipan, CNMI and of Tinian, CNMI on April 26 and 27, respectively, and at the Hemlani Apartments in Merizo, Guam on April 28. Hundreds of residents received relief packages containing food, water, and other essential supplies.

“We do these kinds of civic activities not only to share our faith, but even material goods to help those affected by calamities,” said Brother Julius Malabanan, Micronesia District assistant supervising minister. “We are grateful to the Church Administration for allowing us to have this Care For Humanity event. We promise to remain united with all the Church’s activities and projects.”

“The activity embodies a community helping one another especially in this time that we face life’s storm,” shared Gilbert Bilo, a beneficiary from Saipan.

Rolando Roque Jr., another beneficiary, expressed “happiness for this is a great help for me and my family to help us recover from the damages brought forth by the typhoon. Thanks to the Church Of Christ for this socio-civic event.” — With assistance from Micronesia District Multimedia
