Posted: July 5, 2025

QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Nearly 300 Quezon City residents came together to join a blood donation drive held at the New Era University School of Management Building on June 28, 2025. The initiative resulted in the collection of nearly 230 blood bags that could help address urgent blood supply needs of patients in hospitals in the area.

The humanitarian effort, organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), was conducted in partnership with the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) and the New Era General Hospital (NEGH), with students from the New Era University College of Nursing providing helpful assistance to the potential blood donors.

The half-day drive, held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., drew 250 registered donors, with 229 qualifying to donate. Organizers said that the blood collected will support a range of critical medical needs including emergency care, surgical procedures, and ongoing treatments for various patients.

All donations were carried out in accordance with strict medical protocols to ensure the safety, quality, and viability of the collected blood. The event was made possible through the coordinated efforts of healthcare professionals, dedicated volunteers, and event organizers.

The majority of donors were members of the Templo Central Congregation of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

Brother Jimuel Gatchalian, a minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, emphasized the spiritual foundation behind their efforts:

“Our members participate in activities like this not only to help those in need, but because they are taught that doing good is a commandment of God. We believe that through such acts of kindness, we bring glory to Him.”

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is a Christian religion and community partner that helps. It has active congregations and members in more than 166 countries and territories.
