DASMARIÑAS, Cavite The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC or Church Of Christ) successfully hosted a vital blood donation drive in collaboration with New Era General Hospital (NEGH) and Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) on September 28, 2024. Held at the expansive covered court of the INC housing community in Dasmariñas, Cavite, the event drew hundreds of participants from various congregations in the District of Cavite South.

Participants underwent medical screenings to ensure all blood donations met safety standards. Volunteers from the INC’s Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) and the Society of Communicators and Networkers (SCAN) were present to assist with blood pressure checks and facilitate the donation process.

Among the dedicated participants was registered nurse Vanderbilt Costa, 50, an INC member from Kayquit, Indang. “As a regular donor, I prioritize donating blood before taking on my role as a medical screener for events like this,” he said.

Paula David, donor recruitment officer at JBLMGH, highlighted the immense impact of the INC’s initiative on the hospital and the local community. “Our patients are incredibly grateful for the Church’s noble act. The need is significant. JBLMGH alone requires about 100 blood bags daily, not including other hospitals in Pampanga, Bulacan, and Bataan, as we are the leading blood service facility in the region,” she said.

David also emphasized the importance of the INC’s efforts. “You may not realize it, but your contributions are extending life to families in need. Each donation is a chance at life for our patients,” she said.

Brother Gary Graycochea, an Evangelical Minister of INC, noted that the Church conducts blood donation drives across the Philippines and around the world, in line with God’s command in the Holy Scriptures to love and care for those in need.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is a Christian religion in more than 165 countries and territories. It is composed of members from more than 150 different ethnicities and nationalities.
