The Ecclesiastical District of Greater Toronto, with the approval of the Church Administration, established a group worship service (GWS) in Kincardine, a town in Ontario, Canada.
Its inaugural worship service was held in a rented hall at TownePlace Suites Kincardine along Millenium Way, Kincardine on August 2, 2024.
Brother Raul Adalla, district supervising minister, officiated at the worship service. After his homily, the new GWS’s first set of officers took their oath of duty.
Brethren from Kincardine were formerly registered with the Local Congregation of North York whose place of worship is over 200 kilometers away from them. Now they have their own place of worship at 601 Durham Street, Kincardine, Ontario.
“We’d travel for about three hours to the nearest house of worship,” reminisced Maricel Buan, finance officer. “Indeed, if something is God’s will, He will give all the means and will use instruments to show His care, such as the establishment of this GWS.”
Some other brethren now among the pioneering members of the Kincardine GWS used to belong with the Brampton Congregation and the Midland GWS.
“I feel blessed and proud to be among the pioneer members of the Church in this place,” said Elddrey Meanne Buan, a choir member. “I’m thankful that we have this place of worship more accessible to us.”
The new GWS’s overseer, Wayne Garraway, enthused with firm belief that “This [development] is yet another work of God. The brethren here have been all the more motivated to dedicate themselves to attending the gatherings and sharing the faith with our fellowmen.” — With reports from Danfel Serreno of INC News Section
