The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada were recently organized as a group worship service (GWS) as approved by the Central Administration.

Their first worship service held on August 17, 2024 marked the establishment of the GWS named after the Canadian city where it is located. It is placed under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Ottawa.

Brother Moriel D. Cadacio, the district supervising minister, officiated at the worship service conducted in the new GWS’s place of worship, which is in O’Brien Hall, 717 McParland Drive, Labrador City, NL A2V 1W5.

Brother Cadacio led the brethren in thanking the Almighty God, for their prayers to have their own place of worship has been finally answered. In his homily, he encouraged them to be all the more dedicated to worshiping God and to obeying His commandments for them to be deemed worthy of salvation come Judgment Day.

In an interview later, the district minister said that the “newly established GWS in Labrador City truly helps the brethren to become more active in their services to God.” He added, “We will continue to oversee the spiritual life of the brethren here.”

Labrador City is “one of the most isolated and remote places in Canada, yet through God’s mighty work, the Church has reached this area,” said Brother Aeron Paul M. Mañabo, the assistant district supervising minister. “The brethren now have a place of worship closer to them, and more people in this region can now hear the pristine truth about salvation.”

“I thank our Lord God for the Church Administration He has placed in the Church. The unceasing guidance of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Church’s Executive Minister, in the spiritual life of the brethren has indeed resonated in the lives of the brethren here in our region,” said Johnson Aquino, an area overseer. “I promise to continue to be united with the Church Administration in all endeavors of the Church for the glory of God.”

The Labrador City GWS is under the care of the Local Congregation of Halifax, Nova Scotia with Brother Ruell Robregado as the resident ministerial worker. — With reports from Laura Bridgette Ibañez of INC News Section
