Families from Fairview and Campsite in Quezon City Ecclesiastical District, in the Philippines, took part in fun-filled activities prepared by their respective local congregations on June 28, 2025.
Cupcake baking seminar
In Fairview Congregation, its Buklod officers organized a cupcake baking seminar at the congregation’s parking area.
Buklod officer Lily Mae Mangila shared her knowledge during the seminar. She taught and demonstrated to the married brethren the basics of baking and decorating cupcakes. The participants were then given the chance to experience making their own cupcakes.
In an interview, Mangila shared that she was “happy for being able to impart knowledge to brethren, to help them not only to have a family hobby but also an alternate source of income.”
Deaconess Geraldine Orogo shared that “I have previous knowledge on baking pastries, yet, I was able to learn of innovative ways on doing it.” Meanwhile, Sonia Condeno, also a deaconess, expressed that “it is delightful to see that there are activities like this wherein skilled brethren are able to impart their knowledge and skills for more brethren who are thinking of having an additional source of livelihood.”
“Through this activity, the brethren were able to show their joyfulness and zeal in taking part in activities created for the benefit of Christian families,” stated resident minister Brother Lester Arellano.
Family Fun Day
For the Family Fun Day, brethren from Campsite Congregation convened at the BYC covered court in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.
The program began with a physical fitness activity, followed by the opening of booths with mini games for the children, and food exhibition booths prepared by each area. Each booth featured cuisines in a Philippine province. Then, selected families tested their coordination and strategy skills in a tug-of-war, followed by a sack race, then a dodge ball, among others. Afterwards, the winning families were given prizes, and participating families also received souvenir items.
In a separate interview, local CFO overseer Brother Eugenio Dimayuga II expressed that “the joy and excitement of the brethren truly felt throughout the entire activity was indeed heartwarming and inspiring to the officers and brethren alike.”
Head deacon Salvador Delos Reyes Jr. shared that his family “enjoyed taking part in the games which also served as a moment of bonding together.” In another interview, Deonito Baluran, also a head deacon, expressed his “happiness for being able to participate in this activity which was held for the first time in the local congregation.”
“With God’s unceasing help and guidance, the activity brought smiles to both the parents and their children, and inspired them to continue in doing things that please the Almighty God,” stated resident minister Brother Kris Allan Angulo. — With reports from Alice Doria
