The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) continues flourishing in Scotland as manifested by the establishment of its second congregation in the country—Edinburgh. The inaugural worship service of the newly formed congregation in the country’s capital was held on May 31, 2026 at the Edinburgh Tabernacle situated at 41-42 Inverleith Gardens, Ferry Road, with Brother Romeo Anthony Y. Peña, Britain North District supervising minister, officiating.

Prior to the event, Edinburgh Congregation started as a group worship service (GWS) which was established on June 16, 1998. Brethren then held worship services at the residence of Rosalinda Spowart at Howden Hall Way, Edinburgh. However, the number of congregants kept increasing, thus signaling the need for more suitable places of worship. As years passed, worship services kept on being transferred, with the last, a rented hall, being the one currently used.

Witnessing how God helped the Church thrive in that part of the world, Divina Morales, pioneer member, and Light Of Salvation secretary, expressed: “We used to be small in number that we thought we would not be able to achieve anything. But with God’s love and help, we were able to remain strong in our faith, and to continue in our active participation in the various works of the Church. With this is my solemn vow that I will always look to the great promises of God and continue serving Him until I breathe my last.”

“The establishment of the local congregation of Edinburgh has given the brethren much inspiration and strength of faith. It is God’s answer to their prayers and a manifestation of God’s continuing help to the Church Of Christ,” stated Brother Glenn Gomez, resident minister. “The Church Administration can expect that no matter what happens, the brethren from the local congregation of Edinburgh will remain active in serving God and in uniting with the Church Administration.”

Succeeding worship services will also be held at Edinburgh Tabernacle every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
