The local congregations and group worship services (GWS) of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in Mexico conducted propagation and outreach activities on July 27, 2023 in commemoration of the Church’s 109th founding anniversary.
Members of these congregations invited and brought their relatives and friends to the Palacio del Deporte in Huauchinango City in Puebla State to listen to the proclamation of God’s teaching in the Bible that the Church upholds.
During the evangelical mission, Brother Jonathan V. Jamias, the Central America District supervising minister, expounded on the biblical truth about the need for people to join the true Church Of Christ to attain salvation on Judgment Day.
Cristobal Pablo Ortiz Garcia, one of the guests of the Naucalpan GWS, observed that the teachings he heard were “authentic.” He explained: “The Church doesn’t stray from what is written in the Holy Scriptures because there are no private interpretations. This is the aspect in which the Church Of Christ is far ahead of many [other] churches.”
Another guest, Angel Oropeza from Chachahuantla town, said, “Everything he (the minister) said is something that I can carry out in daily life.” He further expressed, “I would like to thank the brother who invited us. It was a pleasure [to be here] and to be with all of you.”
The Care for Humanity event followed after the Bible study. Brother Jamias led the brethren in the distribution of the care packages which included essential grocery items to the beneficiaries as well as toys for the children.
Andres Andrade, a candidate for baptism from the Naucalpan GWS, said, “Although I’m not yet a member, I already feel I’m part of the Church Of Christ. I also feel part of the great family with which I feel very comfortable. It’s precisely these events that are held in support of people who have few resources and who are in need of help.”
“Everything was so good. I’m happy and blessed,” enthused Nieves Luna Garrido, a beneficiary from Colonia El Potro, Huauchinango. “Thanks to the care packages and the foods given to us.”
On behalf of the brethren, Brother Jamias expressed his sincere gratitude to God for blessing the entire Church these past 109 years and for the successes that He granted its district in Central America. “We are blessed to witness how God helps the Church and all its endeavors. All praises and glory be to Him,” he said. — With reports from Lyn Martinez of INC News Section
