Church officers from the Local Congregation of Bantayan, Ecclesiastical District of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental in the Philippines attended a basic Sign Language (SL) seminar held at their house of worship on September 13, 2025.

District Christian Society for the Deaf adviser Brother Jeff-Rey Tanate led the activity. He first explained to the Church officers the importance of learning SL, that is, to communicate with the Deaf. He then taught them about basic signs such as the alphabet, numbers, and greetings.

Brother Tanate concluded the seminar by encouraging the attendees to continue showing their love and concern for the Deaf, especially in sharing God’s words of truth to edify them in the faith and thus ensure salvation on Judgment Day.

Resident minister Brother Vic Jay-Ar Manza supervised the activity together with ministerial worker Brother Lloyd Eric Ecot.

“We’d like to extend our deepest thanks to the Church Administration for this seminar, which is a big help in communicating with members of the deaf community,” expressed Brother Ecot. — With reports from Credenda Balceda
