Showing compassion, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from various local congregations and extensions in the Ecclesiastical District of Cavite South, Philippines, participated in a blood donation activity on January 18, 2025. It was held at the New Era Covered Court, Iglesia Ni Cristo housing community, Barangay Sampaloc V, Dasmariñas, Cavite.

District officers of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) and Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) collaborated with the Philippine Heart Center and the Philippine Children’s Medical Center for this humanitarian event, the beneficiaries of which were the said hospitals’ patients.

Volunteer donors first underwent the necessary medical checkup, among other health screenings, then the actual blood donation. So many qualified as donors that a total of 343 units of blood were collected.

“To be of help to those in need [of blood],” said Brother Erman Robles, district multimedia adviser, when asked why he often volunteer himself in blood donations through the years. “Also, it’s our way of uniting with the activities launched by the Church Administration. And the health benefits it brings about for the body are rewarding,” he added.

“It’s a pleasure being entrusted by the Church Administration to be of help in organizing this activity,” said Dr. Leonarda Albuera, MD, who is also a choir member in New Era Congregation. “This turnout will be a great help, especially to patients who are in urgent need of blood donation.”
