The Ecclesiastical District of Spain conducted three Care for Humanity events over two days last month.
These socio-civic activities took place at the Casa del Pueblo along Avenida Nuestro Padre Jesús Cautivo, Fuengirola, Málaga, and the Barcelona Congregation’s house of worship compound on October 20, 2024, and at the La Asociación de Acogida a Inmigrantes y Marginados (ACOGEM) facility on the 27th.
The latter event was organized in collaboration with the abovementioned organization, ACOGEM, a local non-profit, non-religious organization that supports immigrants and marginalized persons. “It will be a great benefit for many families who come every day to ask for help,” said Ms. Esperanza Garau, an ACOGEM representative, sometime before the actual event.
Brother Froilan Enriquez, the district supervising minister, handled the overall supervision of the three Care for Humanity events and personally led the delegation of volunteer-members at Casa del Pueblo. His fellow ministers in the district leadership, divided in two teams, oversaw in his stead the humanitarian events held at Barcelona and at Madrid.
In the said venues, hundreds of care packages containing staple foods, such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, wheat, milk, pasta, canned goods, among other necessities were distributed to the recipients, many of whom were beneficiaries of the ACOGEM.
On behalf of ACOGEM, Ms. Garau said to the Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, “I’m very grateful for the help you have given for the good that will be done to people who will receive this donation. May you continue to do good. I congratulate you for the work you carry out through the Church.” — With reports from Christian E. Tantay and Noemi Jimenez of INC News Section
