Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the San Diego County, California Ecclesiastical District upheld the spirit of brotherhood and sportsmanship during the INC Unity Games-Volleyball Edition at the Alliant University Sports Hall on September 1, 2025. The event brought together players and spectators from various local congregations.

District supervising minister Brother Matthew Capistrano led the brethren in the sporting event. Assistant district supervising minister Brother Alejandro Oñate Jr. administered the oath of sportsmanship, reminding all participants that the true goal of the games is not just to win, but to exemplify Christian values and mutual respect.

Chula Vista Congregation won in the Men’s A and Men’s B divisions. North San Diego and Temecula Valley congregations placed first in Women’s A and Women’s B, respectively.

“I felt really blessed and excited to be part of the INC Unity Games. Playing here isn’t just about competition—it’s about connecting with other brethren and enjoying the spirit of unity,” shared player Patrick Molina from the Local Congregation of Menifee. “I can really feel the love of the brotherhood and the support from everyone, and that makes the experience so much more meaningful.”

“This activity was more than just a volleyball tournament; it’s about strengthening the brotherhood,” explained event organizer and district Buklod president Justin Martin. “Through sports, opportunities for friendship and teamwork are created, building bonds that go far beyond the court.” — With assistance from Christian Benedict Co
