Youth members enlisted in the Basag Extension of the Local Congregation of Antongalon in the Ecclesiastical District of Agusan Del Norte were treated to a series of Christian Family Organizations (CFO) activities that promote physical well-being.

CWS Nutrition Program
The first of these activities was the ‘Children’s Worship Service (CWS) Nutrition Program’ that was held at the extension’s compound on September 14, 2024.

During the program, the CFO officers taught the children about the importance of eating nutritious foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to improve their health, even help them avoid contracting diseases. After a short seminar, the children shared a meal.

“I’ve been reminded that it is very important to take care of my health to help me focus on my studies and remain unhindered as I fulfill my Church duties,” stated Aleferd Ybañez, a CWS choir member.

“I thank the Church Administration for always taking care of not only the spiritual welfare of the brethren but also their physical well-being,” said Jovel Ybañez, a deacon and father of Aleferd.

Athletic events

A week after the aforementioned program, a sports activity was held at the Basag Covered Court in Purok Gabi-A, Brgy. Basag, Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte, on September 21, 2024. The Binhi leadership organized the event.

Unity and smiling faces showed as the Binhi members actively participated in sporting events, such as basketball, volleyball, and badminton. These “not only helped me stay physically fit but also have my faith and love of brotherhood strengthened. I look forward to more events like this,” said Erich Guillena, a choir member.

 Board Games

The KADIWA leadership organized a board games activity at the Hombrebueno Residence compound on September 22, 2024. The youth engaged in games such as sungka (Philippine mancala game), chess, scrabble, and checkers.

Aries Gardoce, Technical Support for Video streaming (TSV) officer, shared, “Playing board games is one of my favorite pastimes. I enjoyed playing it with my fellow brethren for it allows me to bond with them while also reducing stress from everyday work and enhancing my self-confidence.” — With reports from Joshua Lariba
