The Ecclesiastical District of Australia West conducted two INC Giving activities in the month of July, in commemoration of the 110th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ)—a blood donation drive and a Neighborhood Appreciation activity.
On July 13, 2024, brethren-volunteers from the Local Congregations of Darwin and Palmerston City, in Northern Territory, participated in the said blood donation drive at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, Darwin Donor Centre in Scaturchio St, Casuarina Northern Territory, Australia.
“The experience was a mix of excitement and nervousness before the donation, but it had the rewarding feeling of being able to help others,” expressed Neil Sagum, Darwin Congregation’s Buklod president and among the organizers of the activity. “We are looking forward to another blood donation drive before the end of the year to continue supporting this important cause and fulfilling God’s commandment to help other people.”
Meanwhile, on July 27, the very day of the Church’s anniversary, members in the district united for a Neighborhood Appreciation Day that was held at the Seniors and Community Centre in the City of Mandurah, 3 Peel St., Mandurah, Western Australia.
The brethren, led by the Church officers, offered free services to the residents of the community and guests. There were health checks, haircuts, refreshments, clothing, photobooth, kids face painting, and kids’ games with prizes.
“This activity is good as I learned more about the Church, its endeavors, and what it does for communities and individuals,” Lucas Huynh, doctrinal instructee in the Ellenbrook, Western Australia Local Congregation, observed. “The more I participate, the more I learn about the Church, such as on how everyone care for each other.”
“I’ve been in other activities, but here, the haircut, entertainment, and other services were great,” remarked Jodie Foott, one of the guests. “All of these are so inviting. I want to come back for other activities.”
“The residents enjoyed the various parts of the day’s event,” attested Brother Nolly Esperanza, assistant district supervising minister. “Truly, the Iglesia Ni Cristo is always willing to help people.” — With reports from Jennelin Guanzon of INC News Section
