A day before July 27, 2024, the 110th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ),  brethren in the Local Congregation of Copenhagen, Denmark, Ecclesiastical District of Northern Europe conducted a Neighborhood Appreciation event as their way of celebrating the said milestone. Brother Kevin Heitmann, the resident minister, led the said activity.

The congregation’s house of worship compound served as the venue. The brethren set up booths to give various free services, including free haircut and health check-up.

“We prepared weeks prior to this day,” shared Shazelene Hansen, a KADIWA officer. “It is our desire that we celebrate the anniversary of the Church by obeying one of God’s commands, that is, to show love to our fellowmen, our neighbors.”

Free food and drinks were given to the attendees. They also enjoyed the fun games likewise prepared for them.

“My shyness to interact with you was immediately gone because I really felt welcome in your midst. Knowing that its your Church’s anniversary, I’m so glad that I became part of your celebration. I will definitely come back to one of your events someday,” said Anna Hermosa Andersen, one of the guests.

“This event is biblical in its basis. We love our fellowmen as we love ourselves. That’s what the Church Administration encourages the members to keep doing,” said Brother Alexander Batulan, the district edification overseer.

The event was also instrumental in edifying the brethren who participated. On their behalf, Brother Heitmann said, “We will never stop thanking our Almighty God for all the victories He gives to us. We will remain zealous in all of the Church’s works led by the Administration of the Church.” — With reports from Anna Dulin of INC News Section
