On February 6, 2023, the inaugural worship service of the Dead Sea, Israel Group Worship Service (GWS) was held at the St. George Hotel Jerusalem along Amr Ibn Al A’as St 6. As its name signifies, this newly established GWS, under the jurisdiction of the Ecclesiastical District of Mediterranean, is located along the coast of the famed landlocked salt lake east of Israel, a country in the Middle East.
“Praises be to God! With His help and mercy, another GWS was added here in our district,” said Brother Ramil Regino, district supervising minister, who officiated at the sacred gathering. “The brethren can continue fulfilling their duty to worship God and also share the true faith that leads man to salvation.”
Merly Linis, GWS head secretary, expressed, “Words are not enough to describe how happy I am. I’m so thankful to God because He allowed us, through the Church Administration, to conduct a worship service here in our area. I promise to help in spreading the truth for the growth of the Church in this part of the world.”
As he led the study of God’s words, Brother Regino reminded the brethren that their membership in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is by virtue of their divine calling. Thus, he encouraged them to endure all the trials and remain faithful until the end to be saved on Judgment Day.
“Now, we are closer to our place of worship,” said Helbert Baguing. “As a group overseer, I will keep encouraging the brethren to be more active in the faith no matter what happens in our lives.”
“Attending worship services is very important to me because during such occasions I receive His words that makes my faith stronger. It is my vow to God that as long as I live, I will never stop serving Him,” enthused Jennelyn Verceles, a finance officer.
The brethren in the Dead Sea GWS are currently under the supervision of Brother Erwin Rivas, resident ministerial worker. On their behalf, he said, “We will continue to be responsive to the campaigns within the Church that the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, launches. We will remain united in doing our part in contributing triumphs to all the Church’s endeavors.” — With reports from INC News Section
