In line with its recently launched project, “ADVANCE! MARCH IN FAITH!,” which stands for Missionize Actively, Resolutely, Courageously, and Happily IN Full Accord, Intensifying in our Task for Holiness, the Ecclesiastical District of Los Angeles County in California, USA, mobilized all 14 local congregations under its care to conduct a monthlong intensive propagation of God’s words.
Such a demonstration of unity proved to be timely being also the brethren’s way of commemorating Brother Eduardo V. Manalo’s 17th anniversary as the Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) on September 7, 2026.
7-day district-wide activities
Church members throughout the district took part in a series of seven-day districtwide activities that began on August 30, 2026.
Day 1 featured a Pasugo drive conducted in two locations—the areas surrounding the Los Angeles and North Hollywood houses of worship. Seven congregations—Eagle Rock, Glendale, Los Angeles, Monterey Park, Oxnard, Pasadena, and Santa Monica—gathered at the Los Angeles house of worship before walking to their assigned streets and locations. There, they distributed copies of the Pasugo magazine throughout the neighborhood and at nearby busy plazas and business establishments.
The same activity was conducted at the North Hollywood chapel, with the participation of other seven local congregations: Burbank, Lancaster, North Hollywood, Northridge, San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, and Woodland Hills.
Day 2 featured household evangelical missions conducted on August 31 by every congregation in the district. From Day 3 to 5, September 1 to 3, brethren participated in group, area, and worship service–evangelical missions, respectively.
Meanwhile, Day 6 focused on online propagational work in which brethren shared social media links promoting the Church with their friends, with a goal of reaching 25,000 individual accounts for each local congregation.
The event on Day 7, September 5, which lasted seven hours, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., involved exhibits aimed at introducing the Iglesia Ni Cristo to guests. They were displayed in four locations, namely, the chapel compounds in Lancaster, Los Angeles, North Hollywood, and Oxnard.
At each site, six missionary booths featured photo and video exhibits for invited guests and attending brethren: (1) Humble Beginnings, (2) Global Expansion, (3) Chapels Around the World, (4) Chapel Construction, (5) Care for Humanity, and (6) Orientation and Christian Family Organizations.
Guests and attendees, accompanied by tour guides, visited each booth in sequence, learning about the Church’s humble beginnings, growth, and global expansion, as well as its various community outreach initiatives and Christian Family Organizations (CFO).
The seventh and final stop was the function hall, where guests and attendees listened to a short study of God’s words to learn more about basic teachings of the Bible upheld by the Church. They were also informed about the schedules of worship services.
District to congregation level
The intensified propagational efforts in the district level were right away maintained in the local congregation level. From September 6 to 26, every congregation held an evangelical mission, which was officiated at by its resident minister or ministerial worker.
Baptism
The monthlong activities culminated in a baptism that was held at the Los Angeles Congregation’s house of worship on September 27.
Brother Artemio T. Pilon Jr., district supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal gathering. In his homily, he urged the candidates for baptism give utmost importance to their Church membership, no matter what they may encounter in life. He also inspired them to become instruments in bringing more people into the Church so that they, too, may receive God’s promise of salvation.
Rogelio Hernandez, a newly baptized member from the Los Angeles Congregation, shared what had solidified his decision to join the Church: “After a while, going to worship services, and just seeing how the brotherhood is—how they treat you and how they come at you—they make you feel like you are just one more of them.”
Anthony Darling from the Walnut Congregation in the neighboring District of Orange County, California, who had introduced Hernandez to the Church and accompanied him in the baptismal gathering, said, “Thank God for using me in calling other people to join the Church.”
The ‘Welcome, My Brethren’ event followed, introducing the newly baptized brethren to their respective CFO. A dinner reception and social gathering followed at the Function Hall for all attendees.
Brother Jairus Monte, district Light of Salvation overseer, observed, “The brethren in the district are actively participating in all the activities related to the work of propagation, proving that they are united with the Church Administration in this holy endeavor.” — With reports from Andy Canlas and District multimedia
