To mark its 75th anniversary on September 15, the Ecclesiastical District of Romblon, in the Philippines, held activities aimed at strengthening the bonds among brethren and their respective families, and especially nurturing their faith in God.

Family Fun Walk

On September 6, the district held Family Fun Walk in four areas: Eastern Tablas area at Talamban View Deck, Romblon area (Romblon Freedom Park), Sibuyan area (Magdiwang Baywalk), and Western Tablas area (Poctoy Baywalk).

More than just helping “promote physical wellness among the brethren,” Brother Roberto Rivera, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, said, “What made this even more special is the bond that families were able to make while participating the activity.”

Pasugo Distribution Drive

In the morning of September 8, brethren from all congregations distributed Pasugo: God’s Message magazines. A total of about 4,000 copies were given to nonmembers, according to the district Light of Salvation (LOS) office.

Recipients of the Pasugo magazine were invited to attend an evangelical mission.

Evangelical Mission

The said evangelical mission for the proclamation of the pure gospel was held by every congregation in the evening of September 8.

“Thanks be to God for allowing us to hold evangelical missions throughout the district as part of our anniversary celebration,” expressed Brother Ramon Dollesin, district supervising minister, who officiated at the evangelistic activity in the Local Congregation of Sta. Maria. He added, “This is in adherence to the biblical command to guide more people in the true service of God here in the Church Of Christ for them to receive salvation, God-willing.”

According to LOS reports, the entire district was able to gather more than 5,000 guests to these propagational efforts.

Anniversary concert, photo exhibit

A few hours before the anniversary concert, on September 27, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place for an exhibit of photographs of past activities in the district.

Brother Dollesin and his wife led the ribbon cutting.

The photo exhibit was mounted outside the concert venue, St. Pius Events Place in Odiongan, Romblon.

Following a prayer led by Brother Giovanni Maganda, district edification overseer, Brother Dollesin read the message of the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for the brethren from Romblon.

Afterwards, performances featuring INC original songs brought vibrant energy to all attendees. Select brethren gave duet, trio, choir, and dance renditions of People Of God Give Him Glory, Tatlong Araw At Tatlong Gabi (Three Days And Three Nights), Kakampi Natin Ang Diyos, Siya Ang Mandirigmang Makapangyarihan (God Is In Our Side, He Is The Mighty Warrior), Salamat Po, Ama, Sa Pamamahala (Thank You, Father, For The Church Administration).

“I was so glad to be among the performers,” enthesed Lourence Mutia of the Agsao Congregation. “Although I’m from Sibuyan island, a very much distant place from that of my fellow performers, I still strove to attend our rehearsals and perform in the activity for this is my effort of praising God for our anniversary.”

For the trio of Kizziah Anne Famorcan, Jaimee Sofia Villanueva, and Princes Gadon from the Local Congregation of Libertad, their performance “did not only foster our friendship and talents, but paved the way for us to grow stronger in the faith.”

Brother Rivera led the closing prayer, which was followed by the grand finale by all the performers featuring the song Nananalig (Believing).

INC Unity Games

A day after, September 28, the district’s INC Unity Games finals took place at the Odiongan Covered Court. Basketball and volleyball and board games such as chess and scrabble, brought out the competitiveness of the brethren, yet keeping the spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood.

Four teams, representing the district’s four areas, competed. That of the Western Tablas area was awarded overall winner after triumphing in most of the sporting competition. — With assistance from Romblon District Multimedia
