Through its Felix Y. Manalo (FYM) Foundation Inc. and the Ecclesiastical District of Thailand, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) conducted extensive humanitarian relief operations across three key crisis zones in Nepal: Nuwakot District; Goldunga, Kathmandu; and Lalitpur from September 10 to 13, 2026.

Via the Church’s Lingap sa Mamamayan (Care for Humanity) program, the FYM Foundation delivered food and clothing supplies and financial assistance to thousands of families displaced by devastating floods and debris flow that has already claimed more than a thousand lives and caused damages equal to 10% of Nepal’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Relief teams navigated narrow mountain passes blocked by landslides to reach families inside the Shandra Joti Secondary School evacuation camp. Mr. Shyam Kadel, the executive director of Himalaya TV, noted that flash floods from the China border left survivors with nothing. “They don’t have food, they don’t have school to send their children. [Food and clothing] are the first priorities,” Kadel said.

Local journalist, Shankar Dahal, added, “It is very difficult for the people who lost everything … On behalf of the Napali people, I’m thanking you for what you are doing.”

In Kathmandu, INC volunteers assisted refugees who fled the devastated Rasuwa District on foot. Left without livelihoods, the evacuees received essential food and provisions. One survivor shared, “I’m lucky because I’m safe right now [but] I don’t know where to get our food for every day.”

Emergency relief packages were distributed to large multi-family encampments in Lalitpur with on-the-ground support from the Filipino Community in Nepal (FCN). “People died also and I feel very bad,” said Lalitpur resident, Anuja Nepali, adding that she was happy to see people helping one another. An FCN coordinator, Marivic Gurung, expressed being “200% overjoyed” for the opportunity to help local Nepalese families.

Nepal finance minister, Dr. Swarnim Wagle, acknowledged the Church’s direct financial donation of $200,000 to the state’s rehabilitation funds. “We are grateful for the contribution made by the Church Of Christ because we are bound by a common humanity,” he said.

“No amount of physical exhaustion can match the sheer joy we feel whenever we extend our love to our fellowmen,” enthused Brother Willen Regalado, Thailand District supervising minister.
