The Ecclesiastical District of Cavite, in the Philippines, hosted a Basketball and Cheerdance Competition for Children’s Worship Service (CWS) members. It was held at the JS Strike Gymnasium in Habay, Cavite, Philippines on August 1, 2026.

It started with a vibrant parade of players, followed by an opening prayer led by Buen Aguinaldo, district CWS vice president. Sheila Ibañez, district CWS president, delivered the opening remarks before the athletes oath of sportsmanship administered by CWS teacher, Von Olitoquit.

Performances by the Cavite Dance Company made the interval timeouts entertaining.

The event concluded with a prayer by CWS teacher, Albert Dagsaan, right after the closing remarks from Brother Helbert Ragasa, district Christian Family Organizations overseer.

 “Through this kind of activities, members gain new friends who share their love for sports, and above all, learn to be active in joining various activities in the Church,” said Ibañez.

In the cheerdance competition, the team representing the local congregations of Alapan, Green Estate, Malagasang, Dexterville Legacy, and Nato Extension, emerged as the championship.

In the basketball tournament, the team representing the local congregations of F. Manalo, Navarro, Pasong Camachile, and Santiago dominated the court thereby securing the championship trophy.

Standout individual performances from the young athletes were recognized. John Malvin Villalobos was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). Max Prani, John Malvin Villalobos, and Mark Alvin Pugong, Nicanor Reyes, and Prince RB Arendai were recognized as the Mythical Five.
