On July 26, 2026, brethren in the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Plains gathered for the culmination of the district’s INCMV (Iglesia Ni Cristo Music Video) competition. It was part of their activities for the INC’s 112th anniversary and their district’s third year.
Led by Brother Elmer J. Parungao, district supervising minister, the awarding ceremony was hosted by the Local Congregation of Kansas City, Kansas, while brethren from different local congregations gathered at their respective venues, being located across eight states in the USA, and participated via livestreaming.
The program began with an opening prayer led by district secretary, Brother Raynante Romualdo, followed by opening remarks by district edification overseer, Brother Joseph Penwell.
The INCMV entries of each local congregation were collaborative works of music enthusiasts aimed to show faith and zeal centered on Christian values. Participants were given several weeks to come up with their entry. A panel of judges then critiqued their pieces based on video quality, creativity, story portrayed, and overall impact to viewer. The judging period was held from July 19 to 24, 2026.
The Local Congregation of La Motte, Iowa won first place with its rendition of the INC original music “Until Our Days are Through.” The local congregations of St. Paul, Minnesota and St. Louis, Missouri placed second and third with their rendition of “Come With Me” and “You Are Always There,” respectively.
“It’s amazing to see that there are brethren within our district who have these skills, and that they were able to share their talents with all the brethren throughout the district,” said Brother Edison Solomon, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer.
“I felt very happy being part of this activity,” said Nyla Jagorin from the winning congregation. “It’s a blessing to use creativity to produce something that not only the brethren in our local congregation could appreciate, but that the entire district could also enjoy and be inspired by.”
“We thank our Almighty God for the abundant blessings and victories He has granted to the Church Of Christ, including to the Northern Plains District,” Brother Parungao enthused, in an interview after the activity.
The district, which was established on July 28, 2023, supervises congregations, extensions, and GWS across the states of North Dakota, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Dakota. – With assistance from Seth Domine
