In commemoration of its 20th anniversary, the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon City, one of ten in Metro Manila, hosted multifarious activities among which were evangelical missions and edification activities.
Evangelical missions
On June 14, evangelical missions were held in each local congregation. The district-wide activity yielded a total of 2,100 guests. Ministers composing the district leadership, minister-instructors from the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) School For Ministers, and resident ministers of respective local congregations were assigned by the Church Administration to officiate at the preaching of God’s words.
On his part, Brother Virgilio A. Del Rosario Sr., district supervising minister, led the evangelistic activity at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Zabarte. Citing verses in the Bible, he expounded on the importance of knowing and upholding the truth that the Father is the one true God and that He is the One Who desires that all people come to know the truth and be saved on Judgment Day. For that to be fulfilled in these last days, as he quoted, everyone must obey the biblical instruction to enter and remain members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), which the Lord Jesus Christ redeemed with His blood and thus sure of salvation.
Special gathering
On June 15, the exact date of the district’s anniversary, brethren and Church officers flocked to their respective congregation’s house of worship for a special gathering via livestreaming, with the house of worship of Capitol Congregation as the host site.
Brother Del Rosario presided at the said gathering wherein through God’s words written in the Bible he reminded the brethren not to be like people of the world who focus greatly on gaining material wealth. He further exhorted the brethren to firmly uphold their divine election which they recognize as their true wealth.
Christine Marielle Babista, choir member from Martan Congregation, shared, “through God’s words which I received, I was inspired to all the more remain faithful to my Church membership and duty until the end.”
CFO Day, INConcert
Concluding the series of celebratory activities were the CFO Day and INConcert both held on June 21 at the EVM Convention Center along Central Avenue, Quezon City.
The CFO Day commenced with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Brother Del Rosario and his wife, Sister Ofelia. Included in the said activity were photo exhibits showing the past and present houses of worship of local congregations, and the various activities held in the district in the previous years.
Also present were interactive booths prepared by Christian Family Organizations (CFO), and local congregations. A trade exhibit was also held which featured businesses owned by brethren.
Later in the afternoon, the participants proceeded to the EGM Hall wherein an INConcert was held. Brother Roel Pateña, assistant district supervising minister, led the opening prayer. Then, Brother Del Rosario read the message of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister.
During the program, brethren from the district with the collaboration of the INC Production Company and Christian Era Broadcasting Service International (CEBSI) entertained and inspired the audience with their performances, all aimed at praising and glorifying the Lord God for his everlasting love and faithful guidance for the entire district.
The program concluded with a prayer led by Brother Gregorio Payang, district edification overseer.
“The brethren and their families truly enjoyed taking part in these activities which were all held in recognition of God’s love towards this district for the past 20 years. The experience brought by their active participation indeed inspired them to continue in their faithful services to God,” stated Richard Gubat, district Buklod president.
“We thank our Almighty God for, through the Church Administration, this district continues reaping victories in all of its endeavors,” shared Brother Del Rosario. “Many people may be affected by the adversities in this world but the brethren in this district strive to remain zealous in fulfilling their duties, and firm in upholding their divine election for by doing so, they please our Lord God.” — With reports from Mark Gil Angeles and Norielyn Goyala
