As approved by the Administration of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), the series of retraining seminars for all officers in the Ecclesiastical District of South Korea was conducted on May 3, 10, 17 and 31, 2026.
“The seminars were held as part of the efforts of the Church Administration to refresh to the Church officers their obligations, and to inform them in detail timely instructions which will further help them to effectively perform their duties,” explained Brother Resty Bugarin, district Church officers overseer. Church officers gathered in the places of worship of their respective local congregations and group worship services (GWS) and connected to the host site via livestreaming.
On May 3, Brother Ernesto Francisco, assistant district supervising minister, from the Busan Congregation house of worship, the host site, taught the officers that God expects them to be fully obedient, and dedicated to fulfilling their duties. In doing so, they were exhorted to remain steadfast and loyal no matter what happens so that their sacrifices will never be in vain.
On May 10, with the place of worship of Incheon Congregation as the host site, Brother Bugarin reiterated the rules on the proper conduct of Church officers. Then, on May 17, at Pyongtaek Congregation place of worship, Brother Timothy Kim Reyes, district edification overseer, taught how to effectively administer groups.
The series concluded on May 31 with a discussion on proper use of social media with Brother Bugarin presiding from the Baran Congregation place of worship.
Joseph Capuyan, head deacon from Gimpo Congregation expressed that “the topics discussed during the seminars were truly helpful in guiding officers to effectively perform their duties.” Meanwhile, Greg Obanil, head deacon from Incheon Congregation, said that “the activity was timely especially now that the number of officers continue increasing, and with the guidance that we received, we will be able to further help the brethren be steadfast in their faith.”
Eddieson Cunanan, head secretary from Pyongtaek Congregation, shared, “Church officers must strive to take care of the brethren and lead them in active services to the Lord God.” Chris Antonette Pugay, choir leader from Uijeongbu Congregation, added, “I learned that Church officers must serve as role models in obedience to God’s commands and in submission to the Church Administration. They must never be self-willed.”
On behalf of the district, Brother Roderick Yome, supervising minister, stated that “the Church officers in our district will continue being completely united in helping the Church Administration in edifying, and guiding the brethren towards zealousness for them to be certain of receiving God’s promises, especially salvation.” — With reports from Jeffrey Clavite
