To further equip local congregation chroniclers with the importance of preserving the Church’s heritage, the Ecclesiastical District of Central recently hosted a series of historical awareness seminars in all local congregations under its care.
First off were those held at the houses of worship of the Local Congregation of San Francisco on April 14, 2026, the LIG Extension of Templo Central Congregation on April 20, and the Local Congregation of Veterans Village 2 on April 25. That of other local congregations are expected to take place on succeeding days.
In all these venues, Brother Lloyd Dural, district chronicler, served as the resource speaker. He shared significant inputs regarding the establishment of local congregations, and the importance of chronicling such and like historic events, among others.
“It is vital to orderly maintain our history so that new generations of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) can be aware about it,” said Brother Avelino Rosales Jr., resident minister of San Francisco Congregation. “That way, the strong foundation of faith and trust in God is passed on to them.”
The seminar inspired a deep sense of responsibility among local chroniclers. “I will strive to fulfill my duty of preserving our records that serve an important part for our history book,” shared Ardel Mer de Leon, chronicler from the same congregation.
“Safeguarding the Church’s history is important as we not only trace the significant milestones of the Church in a local level, but also learn so much from its humble beginnings to its current status,” explained Brother Daniel Manansala, LIG Extension assigned minister.
“I now have a deeper understanding of why chronicling is so essential,” said Julber Tadiaman, chronicler. “I will do my part of ensuring that our history is written clearly, skillfully, and reliably.”
