A new house of worship was recently dedicated to God in northern Luzon in the Philippines through a special worship service held on April 24, 2026.
This was the one built for the Local Congregation of Nagsingcaoan in the Ecclesiastical District of Candon City, Ilocos Sur, which is located in Galimuyod, Ilocos Sur.
Brother Kevin Casubha, district supervising minister, officiated at the special inaugural worship service. In his homily, he inspired the brethren through God’s words that they have the strength to overcome trials and successfully finish their race amid any circumstance, because the Lord God helps and is with His people in whom they belong. He encouraged them to all the more be devoted to worshiping considering that they have been blessed with a new house of worship.
“This house of worship, dedicated today to the Lord God, is significant for the brethren of this local congregation because this is where they will worship God, conduct their services and various activities of the Church,” explained Brother Casubha in an interview. “It’s also here that we gather to offer our prayers to the Lord God, entrusting Him our trials and seeking His guidance for all our burdens.”
The 110-seater concrete house of worship, which is equipped with air-conditioning units, lies some 10 kilometers from the temporary district office in Calaoa-an Congregation. The Church Administration had a separate structure built for the local congregation which houses a parsonage and offices.
Evelyn Argente, 82, a pioneer member of the congregation expressed joy and gratitude for their new house of worship. “Despite life’s many hardships, our local congregation has been blessed with a new house of worship. I’m deeply grateful to have lived to see this day; though I am frail at my age, God has shown me such mercy. As long as I have breath, I will persevere until I have finished my race,” she said.
The brethren conducted worship services at the Ballaconag residence, which is 100 meters from the house of worship, during the construction period.
“We’re overflowing with gratitude to the Lord God for showing mercy on us that through the Executive Minister, we’re blessed with this beautiful house of worship,” remarked Rico Alcantara, head deacon. — With assistance from Ed Leonard Ibasco
