The Church Administration approved recently the establishment of Gillingham, Dorset Group Worship Service (GWS), which is under the supervision of the Bournemouth, England Congregation in the Ecclesiastical District of Britain South. Its inaugural worship service was held on April 16, 2026 at Mere Lecture Hall in Salisbury Street, Mere, Warminster, where its succeeding worship services will also be held.
Brother Harley C. Alcantara, Britain South District supervising minister, led the sacred occasion. In his homily, he exhorted the congregants to take care of their place of worship, render God true and sincere worship being acceptable to Him, for their prayers to be heard, especially in their times of trouble.
“For years, brethren here had to travel 40 miles to the nearest house of worship,” shared Graham Thomas, head deacon. “Traveling for them becomes more challenging due to winter fog, road blockages, or the lack of streetlights,” added Leslee Tangunan, one of the head deacons, in a separate interview.
One of the newly sworn Technical Support for Videostreaming officer, Romel Recopelacion, expressed his great delight for “our request to have this GWS established in our area was approved by the Church Administration. The growing number of Church members here and the need for a closer place of worship was addressed through God’s mercy.”
“We are so glad for a closer place of worship means we can all the more serve God,” expressed Brother Mark Angel Nieto, resident ministerial worker. On behalf of the brethren in his care, he promised, saying, “We’ll continue to hold firmly to our Church membership to remain hopeful of salvation.” — With assistance from Markfel Serreno
